Children’s Home

Each day, two girls between the ages of 10 and 14 give birth in Paraguay.1

80% of cases of sexual abuse against children and teenagers takes place in the family environment.2

The cornerstone of Su Refugio Ministries is the rescuing of abandoned and abused children in Paraguay. As they are loved and cared for in Christian family units on the Su Refugio campus, these children have the opportunity to encounter the hope and restoration of Christ.

A child placed into the Children’s Home arrives by judicial order from the Paraguayan government as a result of abandonment, neglect, or physical or sexual abuse. A child may live at Su Refugio for a matter of weeks or for the remainder of her childhood, depending on the court’s ability to reunite the child with a stable family member. Whether their stay is long or short, every child and teenager is shown Christ’s love in word and deed by their caregivers and the staff.

Highlights of the Children’s Home include:

  • Christian family environment. Children are placed in one of four Christian family units who live in their own homes on campus. In addition, an all-female unit provides a home for older girls. Children are nurtured in body and soul in ways that are not possible in a traditional orphanage.
  • Academic acceleration. Our academic “catch-up” program is designed to bring children up to the appropriate grade level and reintegrate them into the school system. The program has proven to be very effective, even receiving recognition from the Paraguayan government.
Help children in Paraguay receive holistic residential care after suffering abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
